Rib Eye Steak
Also known as the Scotch fillet, and is a beef steak from the beef rib section. It is one of the most popular and juicy steaks. Meat from the rib section is more tender and fattier than most other cuts of beef. This extra fat makes ribeye steaks and roasts especially tender and flavoursome.

Rump Steak
South African style rump steak.

Also known as a Round Steak. A cut from the rump section. A true grilling steak with good flavour though it can be tough if not cooked properly.

Striploin Steak
Also known as Shell Steak, Kansas City Strip or New York Strip steak or Porterhouse steak in South Africa.

Cut from the short loin, the striploin steak is particularly tender, though not as tender as the nearby ribeye or tenderloin (fat content of the strip is somewhere between these two cuts).

A striploin steak can be cut into larger portions.

When still attached to the bone, and with a piece of the tenderloin also included, the striploin steak becomes a T-bone steak or a Porterhouse steak, the difference being in that the Porterhouse has a larger portion of tenderloin included.
